Case Studies
‘Safety By Design’ is where we look at the design, with the design team whilst it is still ‘changeable’ and suggest changes that will help the client long term with operations and maintenance of the facility. This reduces whole-life- cost of the project for the client.
A client with a 4 th floor rented office was concerned about fire safety. As part of our training for their staff we included a building fire safety assessment. The assessment found several flaws in the fire escape plan and route – these were corrected that day.
A client with a very well equipped workshop had staff experiencing a high number of back injuries. After the site inspection we identified the issue as behavioural safety and we trained the staff in wanting to work safely.
A major manufacturing facility needed risk assessments to be carried out. We suggested training of some of their key heads of section in how to carry out risk assessments. We supported those heads of section as they carried out the risk assessments in their own section. We left the company well trained and independent of the need to consultants for risk assessments in the future – saving them money.
A client come to us with an operational warehouse that had the potential for multiple fork lift truck impacts on pedestrians. We advised on fork lift truck routes separate to the pedestrian routes and trained their staff in the benefits of using them.
Schools who want an independent third party to look at the safely and health of their pupils and staff have asked us to inspect their school quarterly and comment. We carry out these
inspections with a member of the school staff who is indirectly trained in the process.
